About
us
The Library of the Institute for Philosophy has been functioning since 1952. The collection consists of forty thousand volumes, 20% of which are German, 12% French, 7% English language books. A few hundred volumes of Ákos Pauler’s library are also held by the Library. Our oldest and best guarded treasure is the work of Augustinus, the Bishop of Hyppo, published in 1485. After his death, we purchased Endre Simon’s 1200-volume collection. Two years after the death of György Bence, his wife donated the philosophical collection of his library to us, a part of which is exhibited in the reading room. Since 1989, we register our books in our own electronic system. The 141 different periodicals may be searched in Excel sheets in the computer room. The PhD theses, dissertations and diplomas are registered in the same manner. In order to facilitate the studies of the students participating in the Bolognese system education, we scanned the literature necessary for their studies, which may be downloaded through the ETR. Currently the faculty subscribes to 11 different foreign language periodicals for the library, which are located on the open stacks of the reading room.

Vodkát nem tartunk a könyvtárban, de például az Egyetemi Könyvtár közelében számos vendéglátóhely található. :)
Tisztelt Könyvtár Szolgálat! A SciFinder adatbázis elérésével kapcsolatban érdeklődöm. Egyetemi hálózatról próbáltam belépni, a bejelentkezéshez caesar azonosítót és jelszót megadva, de nem működött. Hogy tudnám a legegyszerűbben elérni az adatbázist?

Yes, you can use our library and the services free with a visitor's pass which you can get to information desk on ground floor.
