The minutes of Eötvös Loránd University and its predecessor institutions are now available not only on the hungaricana.hu portal, but also in the database of the Hungarian National Archives, on the adatbazisokonline.mnl.gov.hu portal.

Save a book, adopt it! Our book Ferenc Menyői Tolvaj: The Mastery of Arithmetic, presented in September, is one of the highlights of the book adoption program of the University Library Foundation.

The network of libraries maintained by Eötvös Loránd University, the University Library Service (eltekonyvtarak.elte.hu/en), with more than 4.3 million documents, wishes you a successful autumn semester.

Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) offered trial access to EISZ member institutions. The database can be tested by connected to the university's internet network until 17. 09. 2023. Remote access to the database is possible using a VPN service.

Between July 17 and 20, 2023, three staff members of the ELTE University Library and Archives participated in a study trip at Humboldt University in Berlin as part of the Erasmus+ scholarship program. The program was implemented at the invitation of the organization that coordinates scientific university collections in Germany.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, in 1773, Pope Clement XIII dissolved the Jesuit order, accelerating the process of the university's transfer to the state. Between 1635 and 1773, many distinguished Jesuits of great knowledge taught at our university, leaving a lasting mark on the history of the institution. In August our feature is on the first chronicler of the university’s history, Ferenc Kazy.

Save a book, adopt it! One of the most important works of Pavao Ritter Vitezović in our volume presented in August is "Stemmatography", which is one of the highlights of the book adoption program of the University Library Foundation.

The architectural history exhibition entitled "The Window to Rodostó" can be seen in Hungary this July in the area of the Gül Baba Cultural Center and Exhibition Hall. The exhibition also includes copies of the drawings of painter and draftsman Kálmán Beszédes made in Rodosto in 1891-92, which were included in our library as part of his legacy.

Our series entitled „Mosaics from the heritage of ELTE” presents some of the key material cultural heritage of the Eötvös Loránd University. The object of the month - World’s Fair award winner Nummulites preparations made by MIKSA HANTKEN.

Between the 31st of July and the 2nd of September 2023, our library and the Eötvös Exhibition will be closed.

Free trial access to the databases of CNKI was opened until the end of September. CNKI is the most complete scientific platform in China. In addition to Chinese sources, it also covers international scientific content.

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be carrying out database maintenance on the 15th and 16th of July 2023, therefore the online catalogue and library system of the University Library Service will be temporarily unavailable during this period. From the 17th of July 2023, all our services will be available again as usual. Thank you for your understanding.
