The Savaria Library and Archives - as the successor of the Berzsenyi Dániel College and the Library of the Savaria University Centre of the University of West Hungary - is one of the largest higher education libraries in Transdanubia, which has been operating as a unit of the ELTE University Library and Archives since 2017. It is a public library whose primary mission is to provide access to the necessary documents and information as a reference resource for teaching and research at the institution. It also serves as a source of information on the disciplines taught and researched in the narrower (urban) and wider (county and North Transdanubian region) context.
The library was awarded the Library of the Year title in 2007 for its new building, its renewed infrastructure, its modern operating methods, its quality management tools and its high level of library services, and in 2014 it was awarded the title of Certified Library.
