The 2026 edition of the Journal Citation Reports™ (JCR) provides the global research community with trusted, transparent metrics to assess journal performance and scholarly influence. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how the JCR supports informed decision-making for authors, editors, librarians, research managers, as well as best practices for responsibly using journal-level metrics, including the Journal Impact Factor (JIF), available in JCR profiles along with descriptive open access and contributor information. The session will conclude with practical examples and a live Q&A.

The webinar, organized by Clarivate, provides doctoral students with useful knowledge about scientific publishing, especially choosing the right journal and scientometric evaluation. The presentation will cover, among others, the interpretation of journal indicators, the recognition of predatory publishers, and the application of publication ethics and responsible measurement principles. The online event will be held on 25 May 2026, is subject to registration, and is part of a five-part, interconnected, but also separately accessible program series.

The SAGE Research Methods database is available for trial access from April 30 to June 12, 2026, offering over 1,000 methodological resources from the social sciences. The collection is designed for both beginning and advanced researchers, and can be accessed remotely from an institutional network or via VPN.

Emerald Publishing is providing ELTE with trial access to its eBook collection of over 8,800 titles between April 24 and May 31, 2026. The database, which covers various fields of study – including social sciences, business management and healthcare – is accessible on the ELTE network, or remotely via VPN or Shibboleth/eduID.

Bentham Science Publishers is providing three-month trial access to its journals to EISZ member institutions, including ELTE, between April 1 and June 30. The publisher, which focuses on the fields of natural sciences, engineering and medicine, offers more than 130 journals indexed in international databases, which can be accessed from the ELTE network, via VPN or Shibboleth. During the trial period, Open Access publishing is also available to ELTE-affiliated authors, the conditions and technical details of which will be provided by the university library.
