On 12 June 2024 - The Petőfi Literary Museum's exhibition entitled "Halcyon Days - Fashion and Culture in Reform-Age Pest" opened, featuring an engraving depicting George Sand which was loaned from the ELTE University Library and Archives.

The National Széchényi Library (NSZL) and Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) have agreed that NSZL will digitize almost 200,000 ELTE paper-based doctoral dissertations and theses by 2027. Through the cooperation, ELTE students and researchers have access to the institution's rich knowledge base in a modern form, thus supporting scientific research and innovative technological developments.

The Repository Certification Committee of the MTMT (Magyar Tudományos Művek Tára = Hungarian Science Bibliography – The database of Hungarian scientific publications) issued certificates to the Elpis Journal of Philosophical Sciences based on the submitted certification requests.

Our series entitled “Mosaics from the heritage of ELTE” presents some of the key material cultural heritage of the Eötvös Loránd University. The object of the month is the commemorative medal issued for the 350th anniversary of the ELTE’s founding.

The purpose of our professional network called University Heritage Coordination, which was established in 2020, is to develop the method of managing and protecting the valuable cultural heritage of the university, as well as to make it visible to both the citizens of the university and the general public. The Sabbathsong Klezmer Band soloists and the world famous cimbalom player Jenő Lisztes will perform Monti's Charda and other popular works alongside klezmer melodies at the concert „More than Klezmer on the Night of Museums” on the 22nd of June 2024 at 8.30 pm. In the footsteps of astronomical and geographical discoveries, the performers will recall a private song by Gyula Kabos from 1919, and show how Columbus discovered America.

During the Night of the Museums, our visitors are invited to win special library prizes by completing a quiz related to our Copernicus Memorial Exhibition.

According to our tradition, we will join the Night of Museums on the 22th of June 2024. From 3 p.m. in the afternoon until midnight, our library welcomes all visitors with craft activities, concerts, guided tours, restoration workshops and Copernicus Memorial Exhibition.

Our guided tours focus on the history of the University Library and Archives, Eötvös Loránd University.

On the Night of Museums we open our restoration workshop to get an insight into the work of restorers.

On the occasion of the Night of Museums, we are waiting for young and old, children and adults alike with special surprises.

On the occasion of the Night of Museums, on the 22th of June 2024 from 6.00 pm at the ELTE University Library and Archives in the Lobby (1053 Budapest, Ferenciek tere 6.), a string quartet consisting of members of the ELTE „Eötvös” Art Ensemble will give a concert with Edit Kollár (violin), Judit Gombás (violin), Mónika Mezei (viola) and Zsuzsanna Kéri (cello). All visitors are welcome!
