Library software

The IT and Development Department of the University Library and Archives has the central role of high-level system administrator of the common integrated library system (ILS), in cooperation with the official support provided by the software vendor, if necessary. The service provides the University Library Service (ULS) member libraries with ongoing management and maintenance of their individual settings and the follow-up of incoming change requests.

In addition to supporting the integrated library system, the department also contributes to the efficient service of library users and staff through a number of specific developments:

  • based on the decisions of the Library Council's ILS Coordination Committee, it develops and supports the open source public catalogue ELTEfind,
  • maintains and, if necessary, further enhances the University Library's proprietary ELTE Library WebApp, which is also available to users of member libraries,
  • operates and, if required, improves the in-house developed EKLApps internal interface, which supports the activities of library staff with a wide range of functions.
