Secrets of pages – Old book presentation of the Eötvös Loránd University Library and Archives at the Autumn Festival of Museums

As part of our book presentations, you can gain insight into the special publications of our library, during which the secrets of our old prints are revealed. Among other things, they can get to know György Káldi's translation of the Bible, which was written as a manuscript between 1605 and 1607, and find out the reason for the significant discrepancy between the manuscript and the text of the later Bible, published in 1626. You can admire Petrus Apianus ’16th-century astronomical masterpiece and the rotating discs in the volume in action, which also map the calculation of planetary motions and an eternal calendar. With the help of our librarian, they can “flip through” the first edition of the Passau herbarium (herb book, herb book), 1485. The publication served as a model for later ancient form herbariums. Further details about our programs are available here. You can register at the bottom of the website.
