Why should I register for EDIT? Registered users can access the My shelf feature, where they can save items, documents, search terms that are important to them; in addition, they can subscribe to collections to receive email notifications of newly uploaded items. Why EDIT if you have MTMT? In the Hungarian Scientific Bibliography (Magyar Tudományos Művek Tára, MTMT) only the bibliographic data of the publications are recorded, while EDIT also makes the full text of the documents searchable and accessible.
Registered users can access to the function "My Shelf", where appropriate items, documents and former search terms can be saved. They can also subscribe to collections to receive email notifications of the latest additions.
For authors with an ELTE affiliation in the case of scientific publications, the upload is available in The Library of Hungarian Scientific Works (MTMT). You do not need to be registered in EDIT to do this; however, all other uploads, that are not initiated from the MTMT interface, require registration and collection assignment.
EDIT access levels EDIT is based on the idea of open access: its aim is to make the uploaded documents readable, downloadable, accessible, indexable and searchable. The repository is placed in compliance with current legislation and publishing regulations. As a part of the upload process, the uploader accepts the agreement. The author may also protect his/her document using a Creative Commons License.  Access to EDIT content can be limited to levels:
EDIT consists of collections organized into thematic categories. We keep in mind the needs of ELTE when it comes to designing the categories and collections. The categories are the following: Publications Collections of scientific and other publications, works, conference presentations. Scientific publications are uploaded through MTMT by the author or the MTMT administrator appointed by his/her.
ELTE’s Institutional Repository (EDIT) is a repository and archive of documents created at the university.  In EDIT, each document is given a unique Handle ID (called URI “Universal Resource Identifier”) that can be used as a reference. It allows permanent access even after a document has been relocated.
