The internal IT interface (EKLApps), created in the development of the University Library and Archives, is designed to support the daily work of ELTE librarians. The system primarily provides functions to support the internal operations of the University Library and Archives, but several of its features are also available to network libraries to improve cooperation.
The main functions available to faculty libraries:
Debt query interface
The platform allows librarians to check whether a particular user has outstanding debts with other ELTE libraries. This helps to ensure accurate information for readers and consistent management between institutions.
Review and synchronise financial data
Thanks to a joint development between the University Library and the ELTE Chancellor's Directorate of Financial Affairs, the financial transactions of the University Library Service's member libraries are automatically synchronised with the University's corporate management system (SAP). The internal interface for libraries allows them to continuously monitor financial receipts – whether paid on the spot by credit card, cash or online – and synchronise them with SAP. The improvements introduced and the interface provided effectively support the preparation of monthly accounts, reducing the previous time-consuming daily administrative tasks to a single monthly task, requiring only a few clicks.
Online enrolment management
The ELTE Library WebApp application allows university citizens to enrol and renew their membership online. Based on a joint decision of the university library network, registration requests are not approved automatically, but with the assistance of a librarian. The approval process and related administration is done through the EKLApps interface.
