Bentham Science Publishers is providing three-month trial access to its journals to EISZ member institutions, including ELTE, between April 1 and June 30. The publisher, which focuses on the fields of natural sciences, engineering and medicine, offers more than 130 journals indexed in international databases, which can be accessed from the ELTE network, via VPN or Shibboleth. During the trial period, Open Access publishing is also available to ELTE-affiliated authors, the conditions and technical details of which will be provided by the university library.

Gale Publishing is providing ELTE citizens with full access to the Gale Academic OneFile database, which can be accessed with an institutional (Shibboleth) login, until 1 May 2026. The collection contains more than 19,000 journal articles from many scientific fields, including biology, medicine, economics, environmental science, psychology, and literature. The database is accessible via a direct link and offers extensive research resources for ELTE students and faculty.

Wiley is hosting an English-language webinar for researchers, faculty and students from EISZ consortium member institutions, providing practical guidance on successful Open Access publishing. Participants will learn about the benefits of Open Access publishing, the opportunities provided by the Wiley Read & Publish agreement, and receive advanced tips from manuscript preparation to the review process. The event will conclude with a Q&A session, and participation is subject to prior registration.

The ELTE University Library and Archives held four online lectures on the most important principles of managing, sharing and archiving research data in February 2026. The events provided an overview of the research data management lifecycle, the FAIR guidelines and the grants available at ELTE to approximately thirty participants. The materials of the lectures are available in the ELTE Digital Institutional Knowledge Base, and the staff of the Education and Research Support Department will assist with further questions.

ELTE will participate in the Royal Society Open Access membership program for one year from 1st March 2026. Under the program, ELTE affiliated authors receive a 25% discount on the APC fee for open access publications in several selected journals of the Royal Society.

In 2026, ELTE will subscribe to a wide range of domestic and international databases under the EISZ program, including prestigious journal packages, scientific archives and dictionary services. Access will include databases from Akadémiai Kiadó, Cambridge University Press, Clarivate, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley and many other publishers. In addition, the university will provide access to Arcanum Newspapers with a separate subscription until 31 December 2026, and further information can be requested at eisz@lib.elte.hu.

Participants will receive an overview of eligibility requirements, the Springer Nature publishing process, and how to fully cover APC under the agreement. The ELTE University Library and Archives is holding an online training on the management of research data and the preparation of a data management plan for NKFIH NKKP applications. Participants can learn about the concept, types, creation methods of research data, and the role of data repositories and other data storage support tools. Registration is possible for the lectures, which are available at multiple times and have the same content, and the connection link will be sent to applicants by e-mail.

The American Chemical Society is providing trial access to the CAS BioFinder Discovery Platform until June 13, 2025, to support life sciences research. The platform is available to existing CAS SciFinder users and uses artificial intelligence to explore bioactivity relationships. BioFinder integrates the latest literature, bioactivity data, and 3D protein models to accelerate drug discovery.

The MTMT Repository Accreditation Committee has issued a certificate for the journal „Translation Studies”, which was launched by the Department of Translation and Interpreting Training at ELTE BTK in 1999. The journal aims to create a Hungarian-language, internationally significant professional forum in the field of translation studies, and has played a significant role in Hungarian translation studies over the past 25 years. Currently, 27 journals have such a certificate, 7 of which are affiliated with the ELTE Faculty of Humanities.

Wiley is organizing a webinar on publishing support specifically for researchers, teachers and students of the institutions participating in the Hungarian consortium.
