The ELTE–NFI University Film Club continues the series of screenings and discussions. We welcome university citizens from all faculties of ELTE.

The Director General of the University and National Library of the University of Debrecen, Karácsony Gyöngyi, and her colleagues visited our library on March 27, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to view our storage facilities and share professional experiences related to document preservation. The librarians from Debrecen gained insight into our various storage facilities, and the tour ended with a short book presentation in the Council Room.

The Hungarian Academy of Sciences will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2025, and its members include many distinguished students and lecturers. Tivadar Pauler, who was a member of the academy from 1858, played a significant role in the development of the university and legal education. During his scientific work, he published nearly a hundred studies and founded several important institutions during his ministerial activities.

Ferenc Toldy (1805–1875), literary historian, university professor and former director of our library, was a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences from 1830.

The ELTE University Library and Archives, as a member of the international Coimbra Group (CG) Heritage Working Group, is pleased to invite all interested parties to the Coimbra Group webinar “AI Ethics and Governance” on Thursday 13 March 2025 from 15:00 to 16:30 CET, with keynote speaker Francesca Rossi, IBM Fellow and IBM AI Ethics Global Leader.

We are pleased to inform our dear readers that the relocation of the library's external warehouse has been completed, and the books and doctoral dissertations stored there are now available again.

Deputy State Secretary for Public Collections and Cultural Development Máté Vincze and Head of Department László Szende, PhD visited our library on 13 February 2025.

According to an agreement with the ELTE University Library and Archives, we will also host the popular ELTE–NFI University Film Club screening and discussion series beside the University Square campus. The film club, organised in cooperation between Eötvös Loránd University and the National Film Institute, will be hosted in two locations, with the cooperation of our library, and is expected to be held weekly from next semester. All ELTE citizens are welcome to attend these events.

In the framework of our book adoption programme, our conservator and reference librarian gave our adopters a detailed presentation of the supported volumes.

We have collected the most frequently loaned books in the University Library over the past year.

In the framework of the Sustainability Week, we welcome elementary and secondary school groups to visit the ELTE University Library and Archives for green library presentations.
