The ELTE Heritage Coordination team, organized by Bianka Kovács-Molnár, paid a professional visit to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences building, where we toured the exhibitions titled “Canon, Memory, Cult” and „The Treasures of the 200-Year-Old Academy” together, guided by curator Zsuzsa Sidó.

Our series, titled „Mosaics from the Heritage of ELTE”, presents some of the outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University. The artwork of the month is the wrought iron railing at the entrance to ELTE Trefort Ágoston Practice High School.

The volume "Commemorative Medals and Plaques from the Collections of Eötvös Loránd University" has been published, presenting more than 500 pieces related to the history of the university with rich images and detailed descriptions. The material from the eight collections traces a diverse historical arc from the end of the 18th century to the present day, with medals related to jubilee, scientific history and university events. The book is a valuable publication from the perspectives of numismatics, cultural history and university history, edited by museologist Georgina Schlay.

As part of the Hungarian Science Festival series of events, on November 20, 2025, the ELTE Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Education commemorated the life and work of Dr. Flóra Kozmutza (1905–1995) with a conference and exhibition dedicated to her work.

As part of the ELTE Heritage Coordination program run by the ELTE University Library and Archives, and funded by this year's collection preservation budget, the Rector's Office initiated the restoration of the historical dean's chain of the Faculty of Law and Political Science. The chain, which had been damaged over the decades, was restored by Szilvia Döbrentei, a goldsmith and restorer working for ARCHEOLORE Kft.

Dr. Marianna Berényi, Head of Communications at the Museum of Ethnography, gave a lecture entitled Effective Communication at the ELTE University Library and Archives.

A nearly 15-meter-long, bilingual timeline was created at the ELTE Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Needs Education on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of special needs teacher training, presenting the history of the training from 1900 to the present day. The exhibition is on display in the cross-corridor of the Faculty's "A" building and was created as a result of several institutional collaborations.

The main goal of the ELTE Heritage Coordination is to preserve the cultural heritage of the university, which was supported by the purchase of special equipment and storage for eight organizational units in 2024. The purchases included acid-free boxes, archiving supplies, and protective equipment for the preservation of manuscripts, books, photographs, and other valuable documents. In addition to the support of the National Cultural Fund, some pieces of the University History Collection, belonging to old university uniforms, were also restored.

Our series entitled „Mosaics from the heritage of ELTE” presents some of the key material cultural heritage of the Eötvös Loránd University. The object of the month is the candle from the funeral of Mór Jókai.

On Sunday, 13 April 2025, on the occasion of the International Day of Special Needs Education, the exhibition Traces of the life of our namesake, Gusztáv Bárczi was on display in the library of the Faculty of Special Needs Education, as well as an exhibition on the history of special needs education, which was also held in another room, and which was also provided by the Faculty Library and the Special Needs Education History Collection.
